About Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia is one of the most architecturally magnificent sports venues on the planet and a showpiece of FIFA World Cup 2026. Home to both the Atlanta Falcons NFL franchise and Atlanta United FC — one of the fastest-growing MLS clubs — this 71,000-seat stadium opened in 2017 and immediately set new global standards for stadium design. Its iconic eight-panel retractable "petal" roof opens like a camera aperture, while the world's largest 360-degree halo video board circles the interior in stunning detail. MBS hosted Super Bowl LIII in 2019 and the College Football Playoff Championship. Atlanta's warm summer climate and vibrant international food and music scene make it a compelling World Cup host city.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is considered one of the finest sports venues in the world. Its revolutionary eight-panel retractable "petal" roof opens like a camera aperture in approximately eight minutes. The 360-degree video halo board — the largest in the world — circles the interior above the upper deck.
